Do guys like being the active one in relaronships?

by "active one" i mean the one who does relationship things like sending you good morning texts, calling goodnight, giving random surprise gifts, etc. i noticed that that's how alot of relationships are, but idk. do guys like having to do all the work? personally i would feel more like a girlfriend if i returned the favor once in a while (baking for him, texting him first, giving him random presents) xD
