My girlfriend gave a friend, who has a legal prescription for xanax, a ride and he dropped 5 xanax in her car?

he did not realize he had dropped them. Later that day she picked me up & we got pulled over and police found them on the side of passenger seat, which I had been sitting, and charged me with procession of them. She was not charged. Can my friend come to court, show his prescription and explain to judge yhow he dropped them accidentally, and get my charges dismissed? We live in New Jersey, it was 5 pills which he had placed in the cellophane wrap that slipped out his pocket. We were pulled over cause I was a passenger & not wearing a seatbelt, we told police the pills were not ours. Thanks for any advice to this matter.
